School Zimmerberg, Wädenswil
Public Competition, 2024

The floor plan is based on a simple, structurally regular layout consisting of one school cluster per floor. This direct spatial composition between classrooms, focus rooms, preparation and learning zone offers room-to-room utilisation for cross-classroom teaching. The building structure is designed as a skeleton structure in a regular grid with flexible utilisation and functions as a room shelf
In the colonnades, two-storey outdoor classrooms supplement the teaching facilities for open-air discussions, create an open space with a studio character or simply a special place for breaks.
The project takes the ambitions of the competition programme very seriously. Through extensive measures, the target costs are not only to be achieved, but undercut by -5% to -10%. This will be achieved through exceptional space efficiency, thanks to the almost complete relocation of all circulation areas to the outside.
