Open Frame is a spatial concept and, at the same time, a handbook for social and ecological densification in existing buildings and cities. Lightweight, reversible structures expand existing buildings and urban interstitial spaces into shared spaces of opportunity for care, work and encounter. As a political guide, the project shows ways in which cooperation and participation can transform cities – towards an architecture that makes relationships, responsibility and change spatially tangible.
